I have a conspiracy theory that I think needs to go viral and could use your help.

What if the Scots invading Boston for the #worldcup knew exactly what they were doing by spreading copious amounts of joy in the U.S.?

It’s easy for us to be stuck in our own mud. The mired goop of polarization from political social media posts thrust at us constantly, and all the while, the world is watching us too.

The world sees that the people of the U.S. have forgotten about joy, fun, celebration, appreciation, gratitude, and all the other emotions we take for granted when politics depart from improving the communities we’ve created to destroying them instead.

They see U.S. children stuck to their devices sitting in the very seats their parents paid hundreds of dollars for to watch the greatest game on earth.

The Scots came by the thousands and I believe, deep down in my heart, they answered our cries for help.

If you’ve not watched a viral video yet of the Tartan Army descending upon Boston to:

make traffic cones into hats for statues
create a beer shortage in local pubs
play their bagpipes at dawn or teach the locals their chants
grill meats for their AirBNB neighbors
create floating fan barges in the harbor
see the magic and the beauty of Fenway Park

… you might miss it.

Today’s quote, a Scottish Proverb drawn on a post-it note, represents the wisdom and knowledge Scottish immigrants carried in their blood when they crossed the Atlantic to make this country into something special.

Hundreds of years later, the blood has not changed. The energy remains strong, and Scottish brothers and sisters have come to renew our joy, strengthen our love for one another, and ensure all the sacrifices made were not in vain.

And they just happened to enjoy some incredible soccer in the process.
